Workplaces can play a big part in strengthening ties with the community through volunteering activities, while reinforcing bonds between employees. With a diverse workforce comprising employees from different nationalities, US-based materials science company, Dow organised a day out for its employees as part of its #PullingOurWeight clean up programme.
In September 2023, 28 employees turned up at PassionWave Sembawang to participate in the Kayak āNā Klean activity. Combining water sports with environmental conservation, the employees explored the coastlines of Sembawang beach while picking up litter along the coastal waterways.
This meaningful day outside of the office was made possible by the Corporate Social Integration (CSI) Fund! The CSI Fund provides funding for companies to initiate projects which bring workplaces and communities together through social responsibility and volunteerism activities.

Integration in An Inclusive Singapore
In a bustling hub like Singapore, our neighbours may come from different parts of the world. Integration is important to encourage social interactions between different cultures and to build an inclusive and cohesive community. While the CSI Fund helps companies to integrate their employees, community activities such as our Healthy Living Clubs help residents bond through fitness activities.
